Hey friends, remember me?
It’s been a hot minute since I’ve sat down to write a blog post. Life around here has been, well… very muddy boots and milking pails, if you catch my drift. Somewhere between raising baby goats, tending the garden, chasing chickens, and whipping up batches of soaps and whipped tallow, blogging just quietly slipped off the to-do list.
But the other day, someone told me they missed my posts, and honestly, that meant the world to me.
So here I am, dusting off the blog, pouring a big mug of coffee, and getting back to it.
So Where Have I Been?
Life didn’t slow down, if anything, it ramped up in the best kind of chaos.
We’ve added some new goat mamas to the herd (last year’s babies had babies this spring!), Marsha got a Jersey cow that I’m super excited to start milking after she calves this fall, and our gardens are growing with that wild Appalachian charm I’ve come to love (weeds and all).
In the midst of it all, I also poured a lot of heart into something new: a handcrafted line of soaps and whipped tallows, made right here on the farm with our own goats milk, local grass-fed tallow, and hopefully soon to be adding seasonal ingredients. It’s rustic, it’s nourishing, and it smells amazing.
More on that soon, I promise!
What to Expect Going Forward
I’m keeping it simple this time. My goal is to not overwhelm myself with mandatory weekly posts, just one honest, real-life post a month. That’s where the bar is set; if we get enough inspiration to get to weekly posts going, awesome-sauce!
You can expect:
- Updates on our goat crew and animal life on the farm
- Introduction to and behind-the-scenes look at soap and tallow making
- Garden stories (and fails… let’s be real)
If you’ve been here since the beginning, thank you for sticking with me.
And if you’re new, welcome to where farm life gets real.
See ya soon, and until then, watch out for chicken poop on your porch steps!
(That stuff is the worst)
With muddy boots & goat love,
